About Dr. Needell
Dr. James Needell provides individualized health care for the men and women of Gastonia, North Carolina as well as from Charlotte and the surrounding counties. Dr. Needell uses a concierge business model, where his patients join his practice, allowing him to have a smaller patient population, more available appointments, and the time to get to know each of his patients.
Dr. Needell earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his internship and residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He currently serves as a medical director at several rehabilitation and long-term care facilities in the Gastonia community.
As a board-certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Needell has a significant background in chronic disease management. His experience treating patients who have chronic diseases such as heart disease, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and dementia give him a deeper appreciation for preventive care. He is also one of a select few doctors in the US who specializes in the Bale Doneen Method of Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention.
As a result, Dr. Needell focuses on prevention and wellness at his current practice. His MDVIP affiliation allows him to offer more resources to and spend more time with the patients under his care, offering same day or next day appointments and 24/7 access.
His reputation for providing a high level of service has earned him a devoted following. Once you’ve experienced this superior level of care, you will understand why some of his patients have been with him for over 20 years.
